Are you intersted in getting first hand experience of what it means to be involved in an association? Join our various committees and help the board members in their work and get to know more about their tasks! Joining a committee is a great way to earn important knowledges in the work of an association but also gives insights in specific fields. Many of our current Heads have been enganged in the committees before being elected the main responsibility.
The main concern of the Programme Committee is to plan and organize the upcoming lectures and thus, the “core” of UpF’s work. Furthermore, our Head of Programme actively encourages you as part of the Committee to arrange your own lectures and take greater responsibility within the process of UpF’s “core” work. Debates, seminars, panel discussions are great examples of what your work might entail.

Our Activities Committee arranges social events and more informal meetings – the UpF documentary club or our Afteroon Tea’s – for discussing political issues. You can be part of arranging everything from a social gathering in the evening, field-trips to local organizations, documentary nights, seminars and/or workshops. It is a good way to meet new people and expand your social network.

Every year, UpF Umeå arranges a trip for its members to an interesting country abroad with a lively political and cultural social life. In the Travel Committee, you will have the chance to decide on where to go and why, what field-trips to make, and what organizations/embassies/companies to visit. You will be a part of planning the trip and arranging activities and meetings before departure for our members.

The Editorial Committee is the committee that is actively working on our magazine UTPOST, which is published once every term. You can write articles by yourself and/or help in designing the magazines outline. If you are a student, it is a great achievement to be published in this magazine read by all of our members and the public.

Our Graphic Design Committee works together with our Head of PR in designing posters, flyers, powerpoint presentations and more, which will be used for advertising UpF in general and our events throughout the term!
