First spring term lecture: Kenya’s development

This Thursday UpF is kicking off the term with its first lecture. Alexander Muigai from SIDA Härnosand will talk about “Kenya’s development – The “New” constitution – the challenges of addressing colonial and post-colonial legacies and the way forward.”
The presentation will touch on selected embedded issues and topics to illustrate the spirit of the constitution and teething problems of implementing a “new” constitution. Among the issues and topics to be covered in this context will be governance and the rule of law, historical injustices, the land question, devolution, rights, ethnicity, gender, terrorism and corruption to name a few.

About the lecturer:
Alexander Muigai is now a consultant and pensioner, retired from Sida November 2015 after many years of service in mainly capacity building and training of various categories of Swedish personel and their partners working with Swedish supported international development cooperation.
