None of our members can have missed the start of the Swedish Forum for Human Rights today in Umeå, a day filled with amazingly interesting lectures, theater plays, seminars and debates. And it’s only day one! Want to see what UpF’s members are up to during the forum-days? Check out #upflovesmr on instagram, and tag your own photos as well!

Don’t miss Mark Edwards and Dag Jonzon’s seminar tomorrow about the new project WHOLE EARTH? by the Hard Rain Foundation. Approaching the subject of sustainable development, they strive to find a solution to the problems the world is facing today together with students from across the globe. UpF will take part of this project, and also a part in tomorrow’s lecture, so set your alarm and head down to Folkets Hus tomorrow at 10.30!

Want to read up on the project beforehand? Check out their webpage and this interview with Jan Eliasson!

“WHOLE EARTH? deals with the urgent need to make peace with nature. Mark Edwards and Lloyd Timberlake have done a wonderful job showing how human beings can be natural partners with nature. Hard Rain showed in a very realistic way the problems but here we have the solutions, the hope and the possibility for change.”
Jan Eliasson, Deputy Secretary- General, United Nations
