Maj-Britt Theron is a former member of the European parliament-Chairperson of the Committe on Women’s rights and Equal Opportunity. Theorin has been involved in disarmament, social justice and the advancement of women. The lecture is going to be about women in conflict situations and the support for women’s leadership in reconstruction and peace-building after conflicts.

Kurdo Baksi is a Swedish public debater and author of several books on human rights, and a lecturer on immigration and integration. In 1987 Baksi started the anti-racist magazine “Svartvitt” (Black and white). Kurdo Baksi received Dagens Nyheter Jörgen Eriksson prize in 1995, Industrifackets prize on cultural racism in 1999 and Olof Palme prize in 2000.

Gunnar Wetterberg is a swedish historian and SACO(The Swedish Confederation of Professional Associations) public policy manager. The lecture will be about the benefications of the nordic countries joining forces. According to Gunnar Wetterberg a Nordic federal would give the Nordic countries an international powerful position; A Nordic Union would be the world’s tenth largest economy and the Nordic countries would have a place at the major International Council Act.

Cederberg is an author, social worker and journalist. She has followed the situation of the Romani people for two decades and reported to newspapers, radio and television. In 2006 she was appointed “freelance of the year” for her commitment to the history of the Romani people and their painful alienation.

26 May, Hanna Navier och Balder Klett Sarmentero - ”Right to my own body”

Hanna Navier and Balder Klett Sarmentero, were in autumn 2010 in Nicaragua, to portray young people who challenged others and their own conception on sex and sexuality. They are going to show a short film and talk about their meetings with organizations and activists fighting for the nicaraguenses right to control their own body. Nicaragua is one of the countries that has the thoughest abortion law. The country has high maternal mortality, due to unsafe abortion and complication during childbirth. The law has affected the work with sexual education, Hiv-prevention and the perception on sexual rights.

Lars Edman is a director of the documentary film and will be showing his film ”Blybarnen”. The documentary is about how toxic waste from a mining company in Boliden, ended up in northern Chile and how badly it has affected hundreds of inhabitants of city Arica and their children.

Hans Corell is a former Under-Secretary-General for legal affairs and the legal counsel of the United Nation. The United Nation has done much good things, many peacekeeping operations have been successful and the Organization has a very important role to play globally, but over the last few years there has been an debate and criticism against the Organization.
